Welcome to Coláiste Mhichíl
Coláiste Mhichíl was established in 2017 to revive the tradition of a former Irish language summer course in the beautiful Gaeltacht area of Ballinskelligs along the Wild Atlantic Way. The Coláiste is co-educational, non-denominational and provides a two week Irish language DAY cúrsa in July for students from 8 to 18 years old.
The Coláiste will comprise of a Principal, and experienced and dedicated teachers. They are supported by qualified Cinnirí (leaders) who work with the students in the afternoon for timetabled sports and leisure activities and at night time at the Céilí. All staff are fluent Irish speakers and are qualified with the Department of Education and Science.
Course Details
Formal classes in the morning use a variety of methodologies to teach elements of the Department of Education & Science syllabus with a focus on the Oral, Aural, Reading and Written components of an teanga Gaeilge.
